Non posso dare fiducia al buio prima di conoscere chi sono i componenti del Governo, qual è la coalizione che l'appoggia e quale il programma che porta avanti. Mi pare che sia una cosa ovvia in democrazia. E se tecnico è, tecnico deve essere, senza coloro che già ci hanno rovinato e di cui sinora abbiamo contestato ogni azione. Non potremo mai appoggiare un esecutivo che sia all'insegna della continuità, seppure parziale, con il governo Berlusconi, di cui non condividiamo nulla.
I can not give confidence in the dark before knowing who are the members of the Government, what is the coalition that supports and what the program that brings forward. I think that is an obvious thing in democracy. And if it is technical, technician must be without those who already have ruined us and which we have so far questioned every action. We can never support an Executive that is based on continuity, albeit partial, with Berlusconi's Government, of which we do not share anything.

Non mi fido della coalizione che c'è dietro il governo Monti. La maggioranza che dovrà appoggiarlo, infatti, è composta anche da quei parlamentari che hanno votato le leggi-vergogna che Berlusconi si è cucito addosso. Meglio, dunque, prima leggere i provvedimenti e poi votarli di volta in volta se utili al Paese.

PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS SPOKE TODAY WITH PRESIDENT GIORGIO NAPOLITANO
US President Barack Obama on Thursday spoke at the phone with President Giorgio Napolitano and expressed confidence in his leadership
White House spokesman Jay Carney revealed the conversation as Italy was consumed by political intrigue after Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was forced to say he would resign once an economic reform package is adopted.
"The president spoke with President Napolitano this morning about the situation in Italy," Carney said.
"He expressed confidence in President Napolitano's leadership to put an interim government in place in Italy that will implement an aggressive reform program and restore market confidence."
Obama intervened about global pressure mounted on Italy to outline political plans for after Berlusconi's imminent resignation, and Brussels warned Rome to reach its economic targets.
The International Monetary Fund called for "political clarity" while the European Commission said Italy's economic forecasts were wrong and warned that the country's high borrowing costs would hit the economy within months.
